I. STATUS OF EXPORTING BAMBOO RATTAN PRODUCTS
In the newest report of Vietnam Administration of Forestry, in 2019, export turnover of rattan products increased strongly to 44.4%, reached the number off 474 millions USD, increasing by 44.4% compared to 2018, being the product group with the highest value in non-timber forest products.
Vietnam’s markets spread all over the world, include EU 31.44%, USA 19.5%, Japan 9.3%. Bamboo rattan products from Vietnam are also exported to Germany, Turkey, China, Poland, Danmark, Brazil, Argentina…
Up to now, there are more 723 trade village in Vietnam, attracts about 342.000 labour. Vietnam has advantages of abundant material source, cheap and hardworking labor force, experience and excellent skillfulness of artisans.
Most of bamboo rattan products are eco-friendly, made from the materials purchased from Nam Định, Ninh Bình, suburb of Hà Nội,… The manufacture process has developed and improve.
